At Brookhaven School, our workshop programme is designed to complement and enhance the core curriculum by providing all students with access to a broad range of practical, creative, cultural and vocational experiences.
Through a structured rotation of workshops, students are encouraged to discover new interests, develop key life skills and build confidence through engaging, hands-on learning.
The workshop programme supports our wider curriculum aims by:
- Broadening students' experiences beyond their usual curriculum pathways.
- Developing communication, teamwork, resilience and independence.
- Encouraging creativity, problem-solving and practical skill development.
- Increasing engagement through experiential and active learning.
- Supporting personal development and preparation for adulthood.
- Introducing students to new subjects, hobbies and potential career pathways.
- Providing equitable access to specialist teaching and external providers.
- Enhancing EHCP outcomes and the Brookhaven Steps curriculum.
Workshops are delivered on a half-termly basis in Key Stage 3, ensuring all students experience a diverse range of enrichment opportunities throughout the academic year. Key Stage 4 students access termly specialist projects designed to develop employability, personal development and subject-specific knowledge.
