At Brookhaven School, we believe that every student has the right to be heard, valued and involved in decisions that affect their education and wellbeing.

That is why every learner has the opportunity to participate in Student Council and contribute their ideas, opinions and experiences to school improvement.

Every week, part of Personal Development

Student Council takes place weekly and forms an integral part of our wider Personal Development curriculum. Through regular participation, learners develop confidence, self-advocacy, leadership, communication and teamwork skills while learning how to represent the views of others and contribute positively to their community.

Every voice counts

Our inclusive approach ensures that all students, regardless of communication style or ability, can access meaningful opportunities to share their views and influence change. Through Student Council, learners develop an understanding of democratic processes, rights, responsibilities and active citizenship, preparing them for greater independence and participation in modern society.

By providing a structured and supportive forum for student voice, we empower learners to become confident individuals who can express their views, make informed choices and play an active role in shaping both their school and their future.
