Brookhaven School offers a broad curriculum that balances personalised, non-accredited learning with recognised qualifications. Individual EHCP outcomes sit at the heart of planning, with students working towards the Brookhaven Steps curriculum alongside a wide range of subjects and accredited courses through AQA, OCR Cambridge and Pearson. Learning is structured across two pathways – Independence and Vocational – ensuring students develop the knowledge, skills and confidence needed for life beyond school.
The Brookhaven Steps curriculum is directly linked to each student's EHCP outcomes and focuses on developing essential life skills. Progress is mapped across communication and interaction, physical and sensory development, and social, emotional and mental health, with each area broken down into three clear, incremental steps to support meaningful and measurable progress.
Brookhaven School offers a range of qualifications from Entry Level 1 through to Level 2 and GCSEs. These are designed to provide appropriate challenge while supporting progression into further education, training and future pathways beyond Brookhaven.
